[ Riku disappears first. Vanished in her sleep, in the middle of the night, collapsing in on herself in a shimmer of starlights. This isn't like last time. No warnings, no chances to say goodbye, no hesitation or resistance. She just isn't there.
Lea goes minutes after Riku, in the same way. But she's awake, lounging on her couch, having a conversation as she flips through her phone. Here and then gone, like a flame. This isn't the first time either of them have gone home, but it's the first time it's so abrupt. At least it isn't death. The last time Riku went home was seven years ago. She was gone for a month, and she came back with shorter hair and the Mark of Mastery. The last time Lea went home, no one really noticed. She thought she was used to it by now.
Things are different this time. Disorienting. Lea meets Kai in the training, for real this time. Riku has her memories, or at least most of them. They're hazy, dreamlike, but real. She has them all. She remembers how old she really is and how long she's been gone. She remembers everyone she cares about, and everyone that won't change here. She keeps her ice magic and takes what she's learned here to use there. But time is fluid. She doesn't feel like she's been gone for seven years.
Lea's are gone, for now. She lives everything new and fresh, with the dressing room appearing only in dreams vivid enough to unsettle her.
Things aren't the same for every world.
Things go better than expected.
The core story is the same. The heroes rescue the ones that need it, they bring everyone back, they defeat the darkness, and they go home. How and when and who — these things vary, but they do it all together and they go home together. And then their story is over, at least for now, and they come back.
Unlike how they went out, Lea and Riku reappear together on the beach. Coming back is just as disorienting, and neither has their phone, so they get their bearings and confirm memories with each other, of the dressing room and of home, and then separate to find their friends.

You okay? Should I tell a joke to lighten the mood again.
[that's the actual joke, Isa knowing any jokes at all. the only one she had for years was that Lea was her best friend.]
no subject
I'm fine, just— y'know, not used to just letting someone else take the reigns. Feels like I should be doing something too.
no subject
[and then they discovered Lea could actually top. /no idk. that's more like what Isa's used to anyway, although she's not going to say that.]
no subject
[ Is she being coy? Maybe. ]
no subject
Like I know any more about what I'm doing. I'll be doing what I think would feel good, same as you.
[having experienced more stuff only gives her ideas for stuff to do, after all. the weird nort connection didn't magically impart sexual prowess and knowledge to Isa, unfortunately.]

[ As if she's never gotten herself off. Feel free to call her out on that, too, but there's no way she can just jump into doing something on her own, yet, even if she's coming from a place of confidence. What a baby. ]
no subject
I'm going to start calling you "baby," but not the term of endearment kind, it'll just be to describe what you are. Are you removing these or should I?
[she's sitting back on her heels and setting her hands on Lea's hips again.]
no subject
There. Not that I would've minded you doing it either.
no subject
Next time. Is it okay if I touch?
[she's already sliding one hand down Lea's bare thigh, but she won't go any further unless it's okay.]
no subject
[ Is this a real question she's supposed to answer? She's an idiot, please forgive her, Isa. She looks nervous, but in a way that's more excited than afraid. She really will stop anything she doesn't like or want, they both know this about her. ]

Surprise, not protest. After getting teased and riled up like this, after so much time spent skirting around it and quiet makeouts even that feels really nice. She can't really hide being turned on anymore, either, not with how wet she is. Surprise? ]

[ Lea breathes in sharp when she does that, and holds it that way as a full-body shiver goes up her spine. This time she does reflexively grab Isa's arm, with both hands, but not in a way that's really meant to stop her. She's not pushing her away, that's for sure, just sort of keeping her there. It's just a jarring feeling, and frustrating, to be unsure but also so wanting. ]

I'm not gonna break, you can—
[ Go further? Go deeper? She doesn't know. It's good, but it's so gentle it's almost agonizing. ]
no subject
she gets it. it does hit that point where there just needs to be more something, it doesn't really matter what. fortunately Isa has A Dire Need, and that need involves kissing the underside of Lea's jaw, and then right next to that hickey she left, and then she sure is wiggling down the bed on her front to situate herself between Lea's thighs.]
no subject
Wait. Are you sure?
[ Lea just needs a shirt that says "I am my own worst enemy." ]
no subject
I won't do it if you don't want me to, yet, but I've never been more sure of anything in my life. Any life.
[she might actually die or at least pass out if this doesn't happen right now, Lea. no pressure or anything.]
no subject
...yeah. Okay. Long as you're sure.
no subject
the brief period to cool off wasn't great for Isa's own nerves, but that's never stopped her from doing things before. she gets comfortable, tucking one shoulder under Lea's knee, and presses a kiss to the inside of that thigh. then, because she's not going to just dive in headfirst, despite how she feels, she just kind of leans in and nuzzles.]

no subject
Yeah, okay, prob'ly not gonna stop you—
no subject
Isa wraps her arm around the thigh over her shoulder to at least keep Lea's hips still and be touching more skin at the same time, and shifts her attention up just a bit to suck gently.]
