[ Riku disappears first. Vanished in her sleep, in the middle of the night, collapsing in on herself in a shimmer of starlights. This isn't like last time. No warnings, no chances to say goodbye, no hesitation or resistance. She just isn't there.

Lea goes minutes after Riku, in the same way. But she's awake, lounging on her couch, having a conversation as she flips through her phone. Here and then gone, like a flame. This isn't the first time either of them have gone home, but it's the first time it's so abrupt. At least it isn't death. The last time Riku went home was seven years ago. She was gone for a month, and she came back with shorter hair and the Mark of Mastery. The last time Lea went home, no one really noticed. She thought she was used to it by now.

Things are different this time. Disorienting. Lea meets Kai in the training, for real this time. Riku has her memories, or at least most of them. They're hazy, dreamlike, but real. She has them all. She remembers how old she really is and how long she's been gone. She remembers everyone she cares about, and everyone that won't change here. She keeps her ice magic and takes what she's learned here to use there. But time is fluid. She doesn't feel like she's been gone for seven years.

Lea's are gone, for now. She lives everything new and fresh, with the dressing room appearing only in dreams vivid enough to unsettle her.

Things aren't the same for every world.

Things go better than expected.

The core story is the same. The heroes rescue the ones that need it, they bring everyone back, they defeat the darkness, and they go home. How and when and who — these things vary, but they do it all together and they go home together. And then their story is over, at least for now, and they come back.

Unlike how they went out, Lea and Riku reappear together on the beach. Coming back is just as disorienting, and neither has their phone, so they get their bearings and confirm memories with each other, of the dressing room and of home, and then separate to find their friends.

They've been gone two months. ]

You could, if you want to. I certainly wouldn't object.

[and then they discovered Lea could actually top. /no idk. that's more like what Isa's used to anyway, although she's not going to say that.]

[she's sitting back on her heels and setting her hands on Lea's hips again.]

[ So rude, I swear. She huffs and looks away, then hooks her fingers under the waistband and slips them off. She curls in on herself a little on reflex, then relaxes and folds her arms under her head. ]

There. Not that I would've minded you doing it either.

[ c: just add "capable of making someone remove their own underwear out of spite" to her resumé. she leans back in to kiss Lea gently.]

[she's already sliding one hand down Lea's bare thigh, but she won't go any further unless it's okay.]

[ Is this a real question she's supposed to answer? She's an idiot, please forgive her, Isa. She looks nervous, but in a way that's more excited than afraid. She really will stop anything she doesn't like or want, they both know this about her. ]

[it is, and Isa knows that from experience, which is why she also continues instead of stopping or asking if it's too much. she is making herself be slow and fairly gentle, easing her fingers in and still rubbing slow circles with her thumb, and lifts her head to kiss Lea again, needily. remember to breathe, Lea, although the kissing does get in the way of that a little.]

[ It's a lot, it's almost too much, and Lea does have to move her head away, resting the side of her face hard into the pillow, but still on the same side as Isa. She's not looking away from her, necessarily, although her eyes are closed and she's breathing hard. Breathing is good. ]

[ Go further? Go deeper? She doesn't know. It's good, but it's so gentle it's almost agonizing. ]

Isa probably mumbles both of these things, she can't even think right now. okay, well, if Lea's eyes are closed + the lights are turned way down low for romance, then she's going to miss the absolutely thirsty look Isa gives her, with a healthy amount of sheer reverence. and then tbh they'll probably be closed anyway, if Isa does this at all right.

she gets it. it does hit that point where there just needs to be more something, it doesn't really matter what. fortunately Isa has A Dire Need, and that need involves kissing the underside of Lea's jaw, and then right next to that hickey she left, and then she sure is wiggling down the bed on her front to situate herself between Lea's thighs.]

the brief period to cool off wasn't great for Isa's own nerves, but that's never stopped her from doing things before. she gets comfortable, tucking one shoulder under Lea's knee, and presses a kiss to the inside of that thigh. then, because she's not going to just dive in headfirst, despite how she feels, she just kind of leans in and nuzzles.]

[ It's all intimate to her, because... yeah, she doesn't have any experience, but that also means she doesn't know what else it would be like. All she has experience with is Isa. She has to lay her head back down at the shivers it gives her, eyes shut. It's so... soft, and affectionate, and not really like what she was expecting. Her heart rate hasn't been this bad since their last battle, and it's an overwhelming reminder of how there's more to a heart than happiness and joy. They're present, but the fluttery feeling is all nerves. Then Isa does that and it makes her entire body react, hands gripping at the comforter just to have something to do, knees bending reflexively as she falls into tension. This isn't like touching herself, it's a completely different sensation. ]
